Drew Koltun is a  professional drummer, drum teacher, and the Founder and CEO of Lightning Drums. Drew is based out of San Diego, California.

 

       Lightning Drums is patented technology that offer an excellent, captivating, and electrifying way to level up your live performances by providing great sounding drums that intuitively flash, pulse, and swirl colorful, beautiful lightning in the interior of clear acrylic drums to the rhythm and beat the drummer is playing in real time. Lighting Drums is currently seeking funding from an angel investor or VC to scale from prototype to manufacturing. This scale to manufacturing was requested by a major drum company interested in a partnership with Lightning Drums.        In his personal drumming career Drew is currently focused on growing his LIVE DJ + LIVE DRUMMER collaboration project with the legendary DJ Icy Icy of the renowned World Famous Beat Junkies DJ Crew. Together "DJ ICY ICE AND DREW KOLTUN" are bringing incredible, high energy dance parties, and captivating music experiences to their audiences. Drew's past resume drumming includes a vast range of experience playing in alternative rock bands like Hibiscus, funk bands like M.C Funk, Electronic music DJ- Drummer duo Shell Shock, doing live DJ-Drummer performances, playing dance-pop gigs with professional entertainment companies, leading worship in church, plus more! Drew has had the opportunity to share the stage with renowned bands like Alien Ant Farm and Crazytown. Drew has DJ'd and played drums in great night clubs like Parq Night Club, as well as played drums with the clubs DJ. Drew is passionate about and has served in worship service playing drums at All People's Church, Skyline Church San Diego, Nu-Way Christian Ministries, and The Promise Church. Drew is trained professionally in rock, blues, jazz, latin, funk, hip-hop, pop, and other styles and sub-genres, and graduated from Musician's Institute, Hollywood, California, from the Percussion Institute of Technology (PIT) - with a degree in Drum Performance.
